MA and PhD stipends in Intercultural Humanities at Bremen University

Jacobs University of Bremen, Germany, has a number of scholarships masters and doctorate in Intercultural Humanities. Faculty teaching in the program include specialists on China, South Asia and Southeast Asia.

Brief description of the program: intercultural and transcultural issues are increasingly important for political reasons, culture and daily life on a macro and a micro level. This is due to the processes concerning internationalizatio n and globalization and cultural change and conflict caused by them. For this reason, international and transcultural issues have become a new focus of university research.

The Graduate Program Intercultural Humanities is a unique and innovative combined graduate program in history, history and theory of art, and literature with a special focus on intercultural meetings, cross-cultural transfers, cultural comparison, and universals cross.

The Graduate Program Intercultural Humanities gives students an overview of theories and methods used to study and report on international and transcultural processes and phenomena. Students become familiar with the specifics of the research in history, history and theory of art, and literature as well as interdisciplinary approaches applied in intercultural studies in the humanities.

By studying the cases of intercultural encounters, cross-cultural and cross transfers universals, students learn how these theories and methods are applied in each of these areas and, secondly, through the fields. In particular, they acquire an understanding of the historical dimension of the phenomena and processes and the awareness of the specific problems involved in the interaction between the West and non-western cultures, cultural and aesthetic products and companies.
