The University is pleased to announce the availability of 1 new ORSAS prices for the 2007/2008 school year.
The award is given to new students who start their Master of Philosophy and Doctor of Philosophy curriculum, April 1, 2008 (start date is not negotiable).
- Candidates must have received an offer of a place to study full-time for a MPhil / PhD at the University of Plymouth by February 28, 2008.
- The competition is open to all disciplines.
- Applicants must be classified as foreign students pay in goals (UK or EU).
- The price will meet in the difference between taxes and abroad Home / EU fee. Students will be required to find the difference in taxes. The award will be for a maximum of three years, subject to academic progress each year.
- The awards will be made on academic merit and not for reasons of financial hardship.
- Application forms should be sent to the Graduate School, Room 4, Isaac Foot Building, University of Plymouth, Drake Circus, Plymouth, PL4 8AA.
- The deadline for applications is 12 pm on Thursday, February 28, 2008.
How to Apply
The only two criteria for winning an award are: (1) academic ability, and (2) research potential. Other factors, such as: proposed field of study, financial status, nationality, ethnicity, gender, age, disability, sexual orientation, religion/belief, marital status or any other inappropriate distinctions, will not be taken into account.
Please note that to be eligible to apply for an ORS award
- you must be liable for the overseas fee
- you must be of outstanding merit and research potential
- you must not have already been awarded a PhD or equivalent degree
- you must not have held an ORS award before
- the Department or School in which you wish to study must support your application
ORSAS supports only full-time postgraduate research students. If you are intending to take an undergraduate or taught postgraduate course you will not receive an ORS award.
