Netherland – Utrecht School of Economics. Utrecht School of Economics (USE) of the University of Utrecht is the newest department of the economy in the Netherlands. It is part of Law, Economics and Governance Faculty of one of the most renowned research universities. Currently, we have a job opening for a PhD researcher (in Dutch: Assistent in Opleiding) 1.0 fte for four years The PhD position is in the group of the Chair of Institutional Economics. Research will be integrated into the USE Tjalling Koopmans Institute (TKI). TKI offers a structured training programme, which the candidate is expected to perform.
The research will focus on the impact of corporate committees on the performance of organizations in both the profit and not-for-profit sector. An important question concerns the conditions under which a committee of business participation or counter-productive. Within the institutional economics of the group, a number of questionnaires based Dutch data are available for this.
Theory based on quantitative analyses of these data sets are planned. In addition, new tailor-made data should be collected in a timely manner. A master in one of the social sciences (such as economics, psychology and sociology) is required, as is the ambition to conduct research of the highest caliber. We provide temporary employment to 1.0 fte (four years) to stimulate research in a climate and a pleasant working environment in the city centre of Utrecht, the Netherlands.
The appointee is expected to complete all requirements for the doctoral program at this time. The salary for a full-time commitment is € 2000 .- gross per month in the first year and is expected to rise to € 2558 – the fourth year, contingent on satisfactory performance. Good secondary benefits.
