Nanyang President’s Graduate Scholarship (NPGS) 2012 Intake<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n Summary<\/strong><\/span> Description<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n The Nanyang President’s Graduate Scholarship (NPGS) is a competitive and prestigious scholarship scheme designed to encourage outstanding graduates or final-year students to take their first step towards a leading research career by studying for a doctoral degree programme (PhD) at the Nanyang Technological University (NTU). Funding will be provided for up to 4 years for NPGS awardees.<\/p>\n The award is only for new incoming students. To qualify for a NPGS award, you must have a First Class Honours degree or equivalent at Bachelor’s level. At the time of application, if you have not yet completed your undergraduate degree programme, you will need to furnish documentation from your university that you are on track to get a First Class Honours degree or equivalent.<\/p>\n Benefits<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n The NPGS award terms are:<\/p>\n a) Monthly stipend of S$3200 Eligibility<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n Minimum qualifications<\/em>
\nThe Nanyang President’s Graduate Scholarship<\/strong> (NPGS) is a scholarship scheme designed to encourage outstanding graduates or final-year students to take their first step towards a leading research career by studying for a doctoral degree programme (PhD) at the Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore. Up to 30 NPGS awards<\/strong> will be made available in each Academic Year. Successful candidates will be known as Nanyang President’s Graduate Scholars.

\nBenefits<\/strong><\/em>: Monthly stipend of S$3200, Full support of tuition fees, One-time IT allowance of S$1500, etc.<\/p>\n
\nb) Full support of tuition fees
\nc) Priority would be given for subsidised campus accommodation
\nd) Conference allowance for two major overseas conferences in the 4-year period
\ne) One-time IT allowance of S$1500
\nf) Annual grant of S$500 for journal subscription or book purchase
\ng) Thesis preparation allowance<\/p>\n
\nTo qualify for a NPGS award, you must have a First Class Honours degree or equivalent at Bachelor’s level and applicants should also demonstrate excellent research abilities. The PhD research will be in any topic agreed between you and your chosen NTU supervisor within the research activities of NTU. At the time of application, if you have not yet completed your undergraduate degree programme, you will need to furnish documentation from your university that you are on track to get a First Class Honours degree or equivalent. Failure to do so will disqualify you from the NPGS award, in which case you may be considered for other NTU PhD research scholarships, subject to meeting the selection criteria.
