{"id":2244,"date":"2012-07-28T06:05:51","date_gmt":"2012-07-28T06:05:51","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.infobeasiswa.net\/?p=2244"},"modified":"2012-07-28T06:05:51","modified_gmt":"2012-07-28T06:05:51","slug":"research-scholarships-at-the-university-of-western-australia-for-international-students","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.infobeasiswa.net\/archives\/2012\/07\/28\/research-scholarships-at-the-university-of-western-australia-for-international-students\/","title":{"rendered":"Research Scholarships at The University of Western Australia for International Students"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Applications are invited from international students for scholarships to undertake a master&#8217;s by research or Doctor of Philosophy at The University of Western Australia.<br \/>\n<!--more--><em><strong>Level<\/strong><\/em>: Master or PhD<br \/>\n<em><strong>Study at<\/strong><\/em>: University of Western Australia<br \/>\n<em><strong>Basis of award<\/strong><\/em>: Academic Achievement<br \/>\n<em><strong>Study area<\/strong><\/em>: All<br \/>\n<em><strong>Deadline<\/strong><\/em>: 31 August 2012<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #008000;\"><strong>Description<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>There are two major scholarships schemes<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>International Postgraduate Research Scholarship (IPRS)<\/li>\n<li>UWA Scholarships for International Research Fees (SIRF)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>These schemes seek to attract top quality international postgraduate students to areas in which the University has specialised research strengths and to support Australia&#8217;s research effort.<\/p>\n<p>The International Postgraduate Research Scholarships (IPRS) are funded by the Australian Government through the Department of Innovation, Industry, Science and Research (DIISR) and the Scholarships for International Research Fees (SIRF) are funded by The University of Western Australia.<\/p>\n<p>Applications are invited from suitably qualified international students for scholarships to undertake the degree of Master by Research or Doctor of Philosophy at The University of Western Australia. Application for a scholarship is also an application for admission to the University.<\/p>\n<p>The purpose of the IPRS scheme is to attract top quality international postgraduate students to areas in which the University has specialised research strengths and to support Australia&#8217;s research effort. Successful applicants can expect to become members of a research team working under the direction of senior researchers and in an area which has attracted external resources.<\/p>\n<p>These scholarships cover International Tuition Fees for up to four (4) years, as well as Overseas Student Health Cover.\u00a0 Successful applicants will also be awarded a full living allowance scholarship.<\/p>\n<p>Available in the 2013 IPRS application round 1.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #008000;\"><strong>Eligibility<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>The IPRS and SIRF Scholarships are only available to applicants who:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>have completed a four year undergraduate degree at first-class honours level or equivalent<\/li>\n<li>may be disadvantaged if the Scholarships Committee cannot make a comparison with The University of Western Australia&#8217;s standards, particularly in relation to the class of honours achieved, that is first or second class honours<\/li>\n<li>intend to enrol as a full-time candidate for a master&#8217;s degree by research or a PhD degree<\/li>\n<li>will be commencing their course in the semester following the scholarship round in which they have successfully applied.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>English language competence<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>International English Language Testing System (IELTS) score of 6.5, with speaking and listening no less than 6.0, and with reading and writing no less than 6.5<\/li>\n<li>paper-based Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) score of 580 or above with 4.5 in the Test of Written English<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"color: #008000;\"><strong>How to Apply<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>To apply these scholarships you must register at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.grs.uwa.edu.au\/iAthena\/\" target=\"_blank\">https:\/\/www.grs.uwa.edu.au\/iAthena\/<\/a><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #008000;\"><strong>More Information<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Please visit the official website at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.scholarships.uwa.edu.au\/future-students\/postgrad\/international\" target=\"_blank\">http:\/\/www.scholarships.uwa.edu.au\/future-students\/postgrad\/international<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Applications are invited from international students for scholarships to undertake a master&#8217;s by research or Doctor of Philosophy at The University of Western Australia.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":[],"categories":[8,5,4],"tags":[1214],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v19.7.1 -
