It is available for new students who start their program in or after September 2007, and continuing students whose renewal financial aid award year begins in or after September 2007. <!--more-->This need-based scholarship offers $1,000 per financial aid award year. It is offered first-come, first-served so long as funds are available. It is renewable so long as funds are available and you continue to meet the eligibility criteria.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Eligibility Criteria<\/strong><br \/>\nTo be eligible for this scholarship, you must<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Be a U.S. citizen or eligible non-citizen<\/li>\n<li>Be enrolled full-time (6 credits per quarter\/semester) in the MS ED program<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.fafsa.ed.gov\/\" target=\"_blank\">File a 2007\u00e2\u20ac\u201c2008 FAFSA <\/a>and supply any additional information required (e.g. clear up defaulted loans, selective service documentation, overlapping loan clearance forms)<\/li>\n<li>Demonstrate financial need with an expected family contribution (EFC) of $500 or less as determined by the 2007\u00e2\u20ac\u201c2008 FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid)<\/li>\n<li>Have all of your official transcripts on file with the Office of Admissions<\/li>\n<li>Meet standards for satisfactory academic progress set forth by the Office of Financial Aid<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Applying<\/strong><br \/>\nThe U.S. Department of Education\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s process for determining your expected family contribution (EFC) is very complex and requires that you first complete the FAFSA. Walden representatives cannot determine your EFC or tell you whether you meet the need-based eligibility criteria until you have completed the FAFSA and received a Student Aid Report.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Have all your official transcripts on file in the Office of Admissions and complete a 2007\u00e2\u20ac\u201c2008 FAFSA.<\/li>\n<li>Receive a Student Aid Report from the U.S. Department of Education. This report includes your expected family contribution (EFC).<\/li>\n<li>If your EFC is $500 or less, and if you meet all other eligibility criteria while there are still scholarship funds available, it will appear on your award notification from the Office of Financial Aid among your financial aid options. Please note that your EFC may change during the verification process.<\/li>\n<li>If selected for a process called &#8220;verification,&#8221; you must complete this process by submitting a signed copy of your and your spouse\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s (if applicable) 2006 federal tax return (all pages) and the 2007\u00e2\u20ac\u201c2008 Independent Verification Worksheet, to the Office of Financial Aid within 10 days of receiving your scholarship notice.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>If you do not have a copy of your tax return, you may request a copy of your \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Tax Transcript\u00e2\u20ac\u009d by calling the IRS at 800-829-1040 (select option 1, then 2 and ask to be transferred to a representative). To expedite receipt of the Tax Transcript, request that the Tax Transcript be faxed to you. If you want to have the Tax Transcript mailed directly to you or Walden University, expect it to take at least 10 days. Please be sure to include your signature on any tax documents you send to the Office of Financial Aid.<\/p>\n<p>Awards are disbursed on a first-come, first-served basis, so complete your 2007\u00e2\u20ac\u201c2008 FAFSA today.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Disbursement<\/strong><br \/>\nThe scholarship will be disbursed evenly across the three terms in your financial aid award year (nine months for quarter-based programs). The <a href=\"http:\/\/www.infobeasiswa.net\/tag\/beasiswa-luar-negeri\" target=\"_blank\">scholarship<\/a> terminates at the completion of your program. Unused funds are not transferred to the student.<\/p>\n<p>Students who take a leave of absence for an entire quarter forfeit the scholarship amount for that quarter. They may not add forfeited scholarship funds to another quarter. Students who withdraw from the university will forfeit the scholarship.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Renewal<\/strong><br \/>\nThis scholarship must be renewed each financial aid award year (every nine months for quarter-based programs). To renew the scholarship you must<\/p>\n<p>* Be enrolled full time (6 credits per quarter\/semester) in the M.S. in Education program<br \/>\n* File a FAFSA at least 30 days prior to the beginning of the financial aid award year for which you are seeking renewal<br \/>\n* Continue to have an expected family contribution (EFC) of $500 or less as determined through the FAFSA process and listed on your Student Aid Report<br \/>\n* Meet standards for satisfactory academic progress set forth by the Office of Financial Aid<\/p>\n<p>Call 866-492-5336 for more information about this and other financial aid options.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This Walden University Master&#8217;s Studies Scholarship covers the M.S. in Education program.
