\nThe Department of Biomedical Informatics at the University of Utah (http:\/\/uuhsc.utah.edu\/medinfo\/) anticipates the opening of one National Library of Medicine postdoctoral position in August 2009. The position is available to individuals holding a PhD degree in Biomedical Informatics <\/strong>or related fields

\n(e.g., computer science, mathematics, physics, engineering, biology, or cognitive science) and having an interest in developing skills in biomedical informatics. This postdoctoral position is for one year with a second year possible upon satisfactory performance. The focus of the position will be on research under the supervision of a faculty mentor, but there is the potential of taking some informatics course work towards completing a certificate credential. Possible areas of research include: translational informatics, natural language processing, grid and parallel computing, personalized\/genomic medicine clinical informatics, and public health informatics. Applicants should be US citizens or have permanent resident status.
